The Cooper T51 is a single-seat engaged in Formula 1 and Formula 2 in 1959 and early 1960. It revolutionized racing with the use of engine in central - rear position. It allows his stable, Cooper Car Company to become world champion manufacturer in 1959 and Australian Jack Brabham to become drivers world champion that year.
The car we present is in perfect condition; its history is clear from the outset. it was bought by the Portuguese runner Mario Cabral who raced across Europe with the team Centro Sud. The car raced in Germany , in Zeltweg (6th), the Grand Prix of Paris ( 4th ) , grand prix de Modena ( 8th ) in 1960 ; she passed drivers such Stirling Moss , Jack Brabham , Maurice Trintignant , John Surtess .....
After his racing career , she remained long in Italy and she continued to race all European tracks ( Monaco Grand Prix Historique, Goodwood Revival , among others .. )
in 2002 she crossed the Atlantic or she participated in beautiful races at Laguna Seca and Lime Rock for example
Now the car comes back to France .
